Requirements
Qualifications:
Education or Equivalency Required:
A master’s degree in analytical chemistry specializing in mass spectrometry or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of hands-on experience operating mass spectrometry instrumentation in a research or analytical laboratory.
- Knowledge of mass spectrometry methods and instrumentation.
- Demonstrated ability to independently design, develop, optimize, and validate experimental methods for varied applications.
- Demonstrate job-related experience with fostering a welcoming and respectful work environment.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.
Highly Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of both liquid chromatography and gas chromatography; sample introduction methods; and sample preparation methods.
- Experience managing staff and with lab safety procedures.
- A PhD degree in analytical chemistry specializing in mass spectrometry or related field.
- Proven experience with MS instrumentation (e.g., LC-MS/MS, high-resolution MS), including troubleshooting and maintenance.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Successful funding of multi-user shared instrumentation grants or other research grants.
