Applications Scientist – Proteomics (Remote)
United States (remote)

VRS is looking for a customer-facing scientist with expertise in mass spectrometry-based proteomics to join a globally respected instrument vendor. The successful candidate with provide LC/MS application support to customers throughout North America.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide method development and training services for high-resolution mass spectrometry products to existing customers for proteomics applications
• Support post-sales efforts as a technical expert for customers to communicate and publish applications with
• At least 75% travel to customer sites across the western US, Canada, and Latin America
• Feedback successes and challenges to management / R&D to improve hardware, software, and customer experience

Candidate Qualifications

• Minimum of an M.S. (PhD is ideal) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field
• Hands-on experience and knowledge of mass spec-based proteomics, specifically bottom-up and/or targeted proteomics
• Adaptable and practical approach to troubleshooting and method development
• Ability and desire to work closely with customers remotely and face to face; must be an excellent communicator and listener with strong technical writing skills

Salary:

• $80-120K+ annual base salary commensurate with experience
